Trip overview

The Dayara Bugyal Trek is one of Uttarakhand’s most scenic alpine meadow treks, offering a beautiful blend of lush landscapes, Himalayan panoramas, and peaceful mountain trails. Located in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand, the trek takes you through dense forests, open meadows, vibrant wildflowers, and picturesque Himalayan viewpoints. Covering approximately 28 kilometres over four days, the trek reaches an altitude of around 11,181 feet and is graded easy, making it suitable for both beginners and experienced trekkers. The trail passes through charming mountain landscapes and scenic campsites, including Gui Campsite and Dayara Bugyal, with every stretch offering a new perspective of the Himalayas. The trek is accessible via Dehradun Railway Station and Jolly Grant Airport, with Raithal serving as the convenient base village for the trek. Each season brings a different character to Dayara Bugyal—from lush green meadows and colourful wildflowers in summer to snow-covered landscapes in winter. With temperatures ranging from approximately -3°C in winter to 27°C in summer, the preferred trekking seasons are April to June and September to October. The monsoon months of July and August are generally avoided due to rainfall and trail conditions. Whether you're looking for your first Himalayan trek or another memorable mountain adventure, Dayara Bugyal offers an immersive experience in the heart of the Himalayas, combining scenic beauty, peaceful trails, and the thrill of alpine trekking.
