A ridge is in which two sides of the mountain come together. Therefore, walking on an ridge is similar to the walk on a knife-edge in which there are only sides of the mountain that drop down each side. There are some ridge sections in a few Himalayan treks. But, having an entire day of trekking along a ridge is an experience that is unmatched. If you’ve completed a climb to the summit you’ll know that you’re at the highest place for around 20-30 minutes. From this point, you have a stunning view of the surrounding mountains. While on this trek you’re standing at a high altitude of 12,000 feet for the an entire day’s trek(4-5 hours! ).
The stunning 250-degree view of mountains that are covered in snow will be all the way! It gives you the impression that the mountains are traveling with you when you travel along the ridge that cuts in the landscape. In front of you, the ground is swept down the opposite side, one of them into a meadow, the other into the valley. This is the thing that is unique about Phulara Ridge a unique experience.

Dehradun Railway Station in the morning which will leave for Sankri around 6:00 am to 7:00 am.
Dehradun is the capital of Uttarakhand and one of the most beautiful places in India.
The main attraction of this place is Rajpur road go through it and get a glimpse of Dehradun’s beauty. Reach Mussoorie after an hour which is also known as “Queen of Hills”.
Ahead lies Sankri, enjoy the drive and the wait is soon going to be over. Reach trekkers paradise and the main market of Sankri.
Go to hotel Swargarohini, freshen up and enjoy evening snacks in the open terrace with great views.
You will be provided some details after which you can go for an evening walk but be at the hotel for dinner. Enjoy delicious dinner and spend a comfortable night in the mountains.
Today, the heartwarming morning is eagerly waiting for you to wake up. Feel the peace amid the mountains; no connectivity and no materialistic thing is here to disturb you, the only thing is peace.
Relish the hot cup of coffee/tea at 6:00 am and get ready for your breakfast at 7:30 am.
Stand there and spot Phulara Ridge your destination.
Now, the trail bifurcates, one goes through “Juda Ka Talab” and the other through dense forests. Ahead streams and splendid mountain views await you!
Keep trekking for another 1 hour, take some rest breaks and reach your campsite. It is a wide and alluring meadow “Sikolta”. There are broken shepherd huts and multiple streams flow nearby.
After having a salubrious breakfast leave Sikolta and head towards Bhoj Gadi.
Climb through a forest for thirty minutes and you will reach a bridge which separates the valley. Ahead is a beautiful blooming small clearing named “Karsu Thach”.
From this Thach you can clearly see the receding treeline and the surprising sight of Kedarkantha peak welcomes you.
Now, enter a different section of undulating meadows, from this point campsite lies half an hour away.
Reach “Bhoj Gadi” a leveled meadow with stunning views of Kedarkantha, Vijay Top, Devkiyaara and Swargarohini.
Kedarkantha from this campsite is at a long but walkable distance.
It’s your wish to go there. Have your dinner and rest for the night.
Phulara Ridge is clearly visible from Bhoj Gadi campsite and you can reach the top in 45 minutes.
Today, the climb will be a a pleasant one because of scenic vistas and rich Flora and Fauna, spot rare Himalayan birds on the way.
After a steep ascent reach the ridge top and witness majestic panorama views of high Himalayan peaks.
The peaks which can be clearly seen from the ridge top are – Swargarohini, Kala Nag, Devkiyara, Bandarpoonch, Rangnala, Hanuman Top, Top of Sarutal, Vijay Top and Kedarkantha.
They all together are a feast for the eyes. Spend time there, relish such extraordinary sight and surrounding then leave for Pushtara Thach. The trail is a mixture of ascents and descents.
Cross the base of Sarutal and reach the other side of the hill. After a short descent from here reaches Pushtara Thach.
There are lavish wide meadows with abundant wildflowers and foliage.
Multiple streams flow around this Thach and it’s a great camping spot.
Further is a beautiful Lake, formed by the melting glaciers, go ahead and explore the Lake area or rest in your tents.
Descent till Taluka is easy but is careful while coming downhills because most of the people get their ankles twisted.
Enter a thick forest, the trails are very confusing so follow your guide.
The Langoors are easily spotted here hanging from trees to trees.
After a short trek, come across a village and you can see there are cows and goats at every house.
Reach Taluka after half an hour, it is a village with some shops. Vehicle will be arranged from here to reach Sankri and the arrangements will be made in a hotel there.
Today – It is your last breakfast on this trek with the Trekonindia team. The certificates will be given and after some beautiful photos we will bid you all a goodbye from Sankri.
Make your booking 15 days prior in advance. If you cancel the trek due to any reason, it is mandatory to notify us. Cancellation charges will only be effective from the date we get your request to cancel the trek.
If the trek gets cancelled from our side due to any reason (heavy snowfall, rainfall, natural disaster etc.) then the refund will not be initiated but we will arrange another trek.
Note :- If your trek starts once, and in between 2 or 4 days at the time of the trek, the weather gets bad or the trek route is closed for some reason due to which the trek cannot be done, then the company will not refund the any money to you.

The best time for Phulara Ridge trek is between the months of May to June and September to December. The period between May to June is the summer season while the months between September to December is the winter season. The place during these months becomes glowy and vibrant.
The difficulty level of Phulara Ridge trek is easy to moderate. Therefore, with a little fitness, you will find the trek easier. Moreover, you will be accompanied by a skilled and professional guide who makes your trekking experience a memorable one.
The average temperature at Phulara Ridge trek is between 8 degrees to 15 degrees Celsius during the day time. During the night, the temperature even drops below zero. You can experience a temperature between -5 degrees and 3 degrees Celsius during the night time.
The things you need to carry for your Phulara Ridge trekking experience are:
– A sturdy backpack: A backpack would be required to keep all your important items and carry them on your trekking expenditure.
– A pair of trekking shoes: As the trekking trail is from easy to moderate, your trekking shoes will be of great help to you. It will make your trek easier and you will be able to trek through some difficult spots
– Trekking pole: A trekking pole will be of great assistance during your trek to Phulara ridge especially when you are on the ascending trail
– Three warm layers, trek pants, and shirts: The clothes would be required during your six-day trekking tour
– Sun glasses: The sunglasses will help you protect your eyes from the dust and sun during your Phulara ridge
– Sun cap: A sun cap will protect your head from the hot sun when your trek for long hours to the Phulara ridge
– Synthetic hand gloves: The synthetic hand gloves will help you firmly hold your trekking pole while you trek to Phulara ridge
– Plastic Bags: Plastic bags would be required to keep all your things or dirty clothes in it during your trek
– Toiletries: The toiletries will be of great use to groom yourself during the trek
– Indispensable Water Bottles: As you will be trekking for around 6 days, you will require water to keep yourself hydrated
