Day-wise Itinerary

Your adventure begins from Manali with a scenic drive of approximately 16 KM to Jobra, the starting point of the Hamta Pass Trek.

The drive takes you through beautiful mountain roads and dense Himalayan forests.

From Jobra, begin your trek through lush forests of Pine, Maple and Birch trees. The trail gradually opens into wide meadows with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.

After approximately 3 KM of trekking, reach Chika Campsite at 10,100 feet, located beside a beautiful mountain stream flowing through the valley.

Relax in the peaceful Himalayan surroundings and allow your body to gradually acclimatize to the altitude. Enjoy dinner and overnight stay at the campsite.

Begin the day with a scenic trek from Chika to Balu Ka Ghera, covering approximately 8 KM through the beautiful Hamta Valley.

The trail gradually ascends while following the Hamta River, offering continuous views of flowing streams, open meadows and surrounding Himalayan peaks.

As you move deeper into the valley, the dense forests gradually give way to wide alpine meadows and rocky terrain.

Along the route, cross several glacial streams and enjoy spectacular views of the snow-covered peaks of the Pir Panjal Range.

After approximately 5–6 hours of trekking, reach Balu Ka Ghera at 12,100 feet. The campsite is situated on a vast sandy plain surrounded by towering mountains and glaciers.

Relax at the campsite and prepare yourself for the exciting Hamta Pass crossing the next day.

Today is the most thrilling and challenging day of the trek as you cross the majestic Hamta Pass at 14,100 feet.

Begin early from Balu Ka Ghera and start the steady ascent towards the pass. Starting early is important because high-altitude weather conditions can change quickly during the afternoon.

The climb involves rocky trails, snow patches depending on the season, and mountain ridges. As you gain altitude, the Himalayan views become increasingly dramatic.

Upon reaching the top of Hamta Pass, enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the Pir Panjal Range and witness the dramatic transition from the lush green Kullu Valley to the stark desert landscape of Lahaul.

After spending some time at the summit, begin your descent towards Shea Goru. The landscape changes dramatically, with green valleys giving way to rugged rocky mountains, glaciers and barren high-altitude terrain.

Reach Shea Goru Campsite by late afternoon and relax after completing the most adventurous day of the trek.

Begin the morning with a descent from Shea Goru towards Chhatru, a small settlement located on the Manali–Spiti route.

The trek covers approximately 5 KM through the rugged landscapes of the Lahaul Valley, surrounded by dramatic mountains and glacier-fed streams.

After reaching Chhatru at approximately 9,840 feet, take a short rest before beginning the scenic drive towards Chandratal Lake.

The drive passes through the untouched landscapes of the Spiti region, offering spectacular views of barren mountains, glacial rivers and high-altitude desert scenery.

Upon reaching Chandratal Lake at 14,100 feet, explore the famous “Moon Lake”. The lake is known for its crystal-clear blue waters and stunning reflections of the surrounding Himalayan peaks.

Spend some peaceful time near the lake before driving back to the Chhatru campsite for an overnight stay.

The final day begins with an early breakfast at Chhatru Campsite.

Enjoy spectacular views of barren mountains, glacial rivers and dramatic high-altitude terrain before reaching the famous Atal Tunnel.

Crossing the tunnel marks the transition from the stark landscapes of Lahaul back into the lush green valleys of Kullu and Manali.

By afternoon, arrive at Manali Base Camp at approximately 6,730 feet, marking the end of your unforgettable Hamta Pass and Chandratal adventure.

  • Proper trekking shoes and required trekking gear are mandatory.
  • Participants leaving the trek midway will bear their own transportation expenses.

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellation made 60 Days or more before departure – 100% Refund.
  • Cancellation made between 45 to 59 Days before departure – 75% Refund.
  • Cancellation made between 30 to 44 Days before departure – 50% Refund.
  • No refund is applicable for cancellations made within 30 days of departure or for No Show cases.
  • A processing charge of ₹2,000 per person will be deducted from all eligible refunds.
  • Refunds will be processed within 7–10 working days after cancellation approval.
